Look at Mrs.King, front and center.
From these days to the rallies for Trayvon Martin and everything in between, Black women have been out front supporting Black men. At home and in the streets. Sitting in the audience for graduations and awards ceremonies and in the gallery at court hearings, we’ve been there for our fathers, sons, husbands, brothers, neighbors and those we don’t even know.
That’s why I get so sick and angry when I see those images depicting Black women as unsupportive, loveless harpies. When stupid men throw that tired and ignorant untruth of us not being there for them around with their words and wack graphics, they are basically spitting in the face of every Black woman that ever loved/stood up/laid down/sacrificed for them. Starting with their own Grandma and Mama.
